Last updated: August 1, 2026. By using Pacific Lingua's services, you agree to the following terms.
1. Services
Pacific Lingua, Inc. provides certified translation, interpretation, credential evaluation, localization, editing, and notarization services. All services are performed by qualified professionals in accordance with industry standards. Specific deliverables and timelines are outlined in individual service agreements or quotes.
2. Client Obligations
Clients agree to provide accurate and complete source materials, respond to translator queries in a timely manner, and review deliverables within the agreed review period. Delays caused by the client may affect delivery timelines and are not grounds for cancellation without payment for work completed.
3. Pricing & Payment
Prices are quoted per project based on word count, language pair, complexity, and turnaround requirements. Payment terms are net 30 days for approved business accounts. New clients and one-time projects require payment in advance. Accepted payment methods: ACH, wire transfer, and all major credit cards.
4. Intellectual Property
Upon full payment, the client retains all intellectual property rights to the translated content. Pacific Lingua retains the right to use anonymized project data for quality improvement purposes. Translation memories and glossaries developed during the project remain the joint property of both parties unless otherwise agreed.
5. Confidentiality
Pacific Lingua treats all client materials as confidential. Translators and staff are bound by confidentiality agreements. We do not share, sell, or disclose client documents to any third party except as required by law or with explicit client permission.
6. Limitation of Liability
Pacific Lingua's liability for any claim arising from services provided is limited to the fees paid for the specific project giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages. Certified translations carry professional liability insurance coverage.
7. Cancellation & Refunds
Projects canceled before work begins receive a full refund. Projects canceled after work has commenced are billed for completed work plus a 15% cancellation fee. Completed and delivered translations are not eligible for refund but will be corrected at no charge if they contain errors attributable to Pacific Lingua.
8. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these terms shall first be resolved through good-faith mediation. If mediation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Los Angeles County, California, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
